Hepburn Magazine is proudly offering Write to Create Scholarships for Women to study at the Global Academy of Leadership and Entrepreneurship, affectionately known as GALE. Hepburn Magazine has an ethos of supporting and empowering women and this scholarship is for those women aspiring to become a professional writer or editor.

Professional Writer Scholarships

Applications for 2024 scholarships close on 25 February 2024

All applicants will be advised on the outcome of their scholarships by 15 March 2024.

The Global Academy of Leadership and Entrepreneurship supports Hepburn’s Scholarships for Women initiative by partnering with us. Hepburn is offering Professional Writer Scholarships to GALE’s Certificate IV in Professional Writing and Editing:

  • Five (5) x 50% scholarships

to the CUA40118 Certificate IV in Professional Writing and Editing to women seeking an entry pathway into professional writing and editing.

Program Overview

A Certificate IV in Professional Writing and Editing is a highly regarded qualification for women seeking an entry pathway or professionals wanting to expand their skillset into professional writing and editing. A Certificate IV can advance your career, expand your professional network, increase your earning capacity, and provide you with the skills and knowledge you need to create your own written works. GALE’s Certificate IV in Professional Writing and Editing will provide you with practical skills and knowledge that will allow you to craft your stories and develop your creative flair in fiction, non-fiction, and narrative, and to become a successful writer.

Upon completion, successful graduates are able to:
  • apply knowledge, and practical skills to a range of writing and editing tasks
  • write in a range of contexts and text types
  • edit and proofread their own written works
  • provide guidance to others

Scholarship Inclusion

There are five (5) x 50% scholarships for women available to Australian citzens, permanent residents and temporary visa holders. Each Write to Create scholarship is valued at $5,000 and successful applications will be required to pay the balance of the course fees, being $5,000 on an instalment plan (Administration, processing, and re-assessment if required fees are not included.)

Successful applicants (or their employer) will be required to cover any additional incidental costs such as books, travel or accommodation if necessary.

Scholarship Timeline

05 FEB 2024: Applications OPEN

25 FEB 2024: Applications CLOSE

15 MAR 2024: All scholarship applicants are notified of the selection outcome

25 MAR 2024: Classes commence this week

Who Should Apply

Women who seek a pathway into professional writing or content creation.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

  • be an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident
  • currently employed or running their own business
  • be of 18 years or over

Shortlisted applications

If you are shortlisted for a Write to Create Scholarship you will be required to meet the eligibility requirements for entry into the CUA40118 – Certificate IV in Professional Writing and Editing.

Selection criteria

The scholarhips are awarded jointly by Hepburn Magazine Pty Ltd and the Global Academy of Leadership and Entrepreneurship to women whose completion of the program, would benefit their career aspirations. Selection is conditional on the applicant meeting the eligibility requirements including GALE’s entry requirements to the CUA40118 Certificate IV in Professional Writing and Editing.
